Induction hardening is a form of heat treatment in which the chrome plated steel tube is heated by induction heating and then quenched. This heat treatment is increasing the hardness and brittleness of the chrome plated tube.
Induction Hardened Chrome plated Steel tubes SRB finished or Honed are used at telescopic hydraulic cylinders with high mechanical demands. The chrome surface is giving good wear and corrosion resistance. The Skived and Roller burnished process is a complex process that is increasing the roughness qualities of the surface. The skiving knives pass first scraping the inside layer of metal. Burnishing rollers are passing afterwards cold working the tube and creating an internal mirror surface finish.

Diameter Tolerance for OD: ISO-f7. For ID: ISO-H8/H9 – depending on the wall thickness. We can provide special tolerance at premium price.
Ovality – max ½ from the OD diameter tolerance. For ID – in the limits of its tolerance.
Eccentricity is maximum 3% of the wall thickness according to EN 10305-2.
Surface Roughness – for OD is Ra = max 0.20 µm. Internal surface Roughness for SRB finished tubes is Ra = max 0.25 µm. For Honed tubes Ra = max 0.40 µm.
Surface Hardness – Chrome Layer hardness is minimum 900 HV 0.1. Steel-grade E355 IH surface hardness is minimum 35HRC.
Hardness depth is from 1.0 to 4.0[mm].
Straightness for OD> 40 [mm] is max 0.2[mm]/1000[mm].
Chrome Layer thickness is minimum 20[µm].
Corrosion Resistance is given by the salt spray test results. These tests are following the ISO 9227 and ISO 10289 standards. The rating is given by the test results.

Packaging A-TUBE products are supplied in 3 different packaging options:
Standard plastic sleeves or paper tubes (depending on the diameter size) packed in bundles. The tubes are oiled inside and closed with end caps.
Special Packaging (seaworthy protected) with additional cost is made with aluminum foil or vacuum bags.
As an Extra protection with additional cost we can provide also wooden boxes.
Marking in ASO HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS has a full trace-ability.
Each tube is marked individually on the plastic/paper tube with info about the date, heat no production order tolerance and so on. The batch has a label with the following information: Order no, Item no, Heat no., Steel Grade, OD x ID; total length of the batch, Weight, no of pieces in the batch.
